Utah Weather and Hiking Through It

This is what happens when you count on Utah weathermen and their predictions of only 30% rain. But, it was more fun this way anyways :)

#10- Check!

Last week I went through one of my "sewing moods" where all I want to do is sit down at my sewing machine and design/make something cute. So, I got to cross #10 of my summer bucket list but I'll probably keep at it for the rest of the summer because I love to sew and doubt I'll find much time to do it when I'm back in school. Here are the results of last week's frenzy:

This was also a great opportunity to take a bunch of pictures of my precious little sisters (and their adorable friend, Carley).

I Can't Believe It's Over.

There aren't many words for me to express my feelings right now. However, I can say that am going to miss Harry Potter so so much. I have grown up with this series. It's part of our generation's legacy. I can't let it go. I am never going to stop watching the movies or re-reading the books and I'll probably still throw on my glasses and carry my wand around the house every-so-often even though there aren't midnight showings to dress up for. And, when I'm old and have my own kids, I am going to relive the excitement with them. After they've read all of the books, I'll introduce them to each of the movies one by one just like I experienced them. Though I am having a very hard time dealing with the shock of this being over, let me say that I think that they finished strong and this most recent movie is my favorite of them all. I think it was very well done. I really feel like they did a good job capturing the emotion and the stress of the events in the movie and sharing it with the audience. (I at least felt it. I think I cried five times.) I also feel like the actors did an especially incredible job (namely: Alan Rickman. Wow). If you haven't seen it yet, I encourage you to do so. And, #4 on my summer bucket list is now complete!

When I listen to music, I don't have only one style or genre that I like. I love everything but rap. But, I don't love them all at the same time. I just go through kicks with certain artists or groups. Currently, I am obsessed with 80's music. Billy Joel is one of my heroes right now (See "Innocent Man" or "It's Still Rock and Roll to Me"). And, I really love The Police ("Every Little Thing She Does is Magic") and Neil Diamond ("Cherry, Cherry"). The other night, my mom introduced me to a new 80's song that I absolutely love. I admit, I hate the artist's voice which is why I am choosing not to give you a link to her song like I did with the others but I do love the lyrics. It's called "For Your Eyes Only" by Sheena Easton.
